As if Spoon coming to Tallahassee wasn’t good enough, David Bazan (Pedro The Lion) and All Smiles will be opening!

I think this concert will get an Emmy or Golden Globe for best concert ever. It will probably also win the World Cup, Heisman Trophy, Super Bowl, and the Sundance Film Festival.

Holy Junk! This show is sure to be one of the greatest in the world. Better than the show where U2 played on top of that building. Here is the bio from Akron / Family’s website:
 
“Akron/Family are four extremely nice, sincere and well-mannered young men from rural America who came to NYC (in 2002) to make music, hoping to find a thread of real magic still winding through this city’s music scene. They certainly did just that, but they did it by retreating into a tiny Brooklyn apartment, where they made their own world instead, in complete and stubborn isolation. They proceeded (while simultaneously growing alarmingly long beards and developing a playful but hermetic quasi-religious/sonic worldview/creed known as ‘AK’ to make several albums worth of recordings on crude home equipment the material compulsively chopped, spliced, and orchestrated into fractal jewels of song and schismatically opposed atmospheres.”

Once again, Okkervil River is coming to Club Downunder. The last time Okkervil played at the Club, everyone ended up getting like 100 bucks. Not really, but seeing Okkervil River play live will make you as happy as if you’ve found a Benjamin, or 5 Jacksons, or 2 Grants.

Damien Jurado is also playing on October 4th, which will complete your night of happiness. So get your homework done early and come to the Club at 8:30. Bring your friends and family, but no pets are allowed in Club Downunder.
