Union Productions is proud to have underground hip-hop artist Murs at Club Downunder on Thursday, October 6! This Los Angeles-based rapper, born Nick Carter, released his first single in 1993 and has been been making moves in the indie scene ever since. Throughout his lengthy career, Murs (an acronym with several meanings such as “Making the Universe Recognize and Submit”) has collaborated with many of the biggest names in indep…endent hip-hop including: 9th wonder, Slug and El-P. Never one to be tied down to a certain sound, Murs has even joined forces with Whole Wheat Bread to form punk fusion band The Invincibles. Known for his is genre-bending, politically charged and musically adventurous style, the MC uses thought-provoking and introspective lyrics to weave intricate stories in a very personal way. Murs’ subject matter runs the gamut from the pervasiveness of gun culture in hip-hop to relationship troubles in a way that is sure to reach anyone who listens.
