Union Productions will be hosting contemporary R&B musician Dâm-Funk at Club Downunder on Sunday, October 2nd. DJ Damon Riddick, who goes by the stagename Dâm-Funk (pronounced “Dame Funk”), is a multi-instrumentalist, disc jockey and producer who began recording tracks while still in high school. These early recordings were featured in rap compilations, and it wasn’t until 2007 that Riddick developed his current moniker and began crafting his soulful, synth-centric funk masterworks. With roots planted in the R&B and post-disco scenes of the early 80s, Dâm-Funk applies a postmodern twist to the bygone boogies of yesteryear.
Dâm-Funk collaboration Master Blazter will begin the evening. Featuring a combination of talent from D-F, Computer Jay, and J-1, this heavy electronic funk will be sure to put you in a dancing mood.
